Cypress Records is nationally known for launching the career of several artists and bands currently in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Putting Jacksonville, Florida on the map, Cypress Records has become intertwined with the history of the music industry.
Cypress Records
Established in 1962 in Palm Valley by Dave Plummer, Cypress Records has become a revolving door for music history. The studio relocated to Jacksonville Beach in 1968, until the completion of the building that is now the iconic symbol of Cypress studios in 1974.
The new building would take construction 2 full years to create, and upon completion became the largest studio in the southeast. As a result, the studio recorded for nearly every nationally known artist from Jacksonville, Florida; including The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Limp Bizkit, Yellowcard, The Charlie Daniels Band, 38 Special and Molly Hatchet and more.
Following in his father’s footsteps, David Plummer continues Cypress Record’s legacy by breathing new life into the studio. He expresses the value in capturing the studio’s nostalgia while still remaining a leader in the audio recording industry. With renovations and upgrades, David has launched Cypress Records into the 21st Century. Earning decades of experience, Cypress Records is ready to provide recording services to the next generation of artists.
